I’m Victoria Dosen…the woman behind VixieFit: Fitness & Nutrition Coaching For Moms
First and foremost, I am a wife and mother to three young children. I am a fitness coach with almost 15 years under my belt. My family and I live in Naples, Florida. I primarily coach women, and I specialize in coaching prenatal and postnatal women (both in-person and online).
While I have enjoyed working with all types of people, I’ve always known that I wanted to do more than just train in the gym and that I needed to find my niche. After having my first baby, it hit me that I have always loved training pregnant and postnatal mamas—even before I became one myself!
I started my business, VixieFit, to help empower women by teaching them how to strengthen their bodies, minds, and spirits, with an emphasis on moms. I want every mother to know that there is a BETTER, SAFER, and MORE EFFECTIVE way to exercise during and after pregnancy, and that they are not alone on this journey through motherhood. I want them to know that living a healthy and fit lifestyle DOES NOT have to be complicated, that exercise is an AMAZING tool for the body, mind, and spirit, that being a STRONG mom with MUSCLES is not just okay but bad-ass, that it’s IMPORTANT for you as a mom to take time for YOURSELF, and that you should never lose sight of YOUR health and happiness (and that they are inextricably intertwined)!
I am not your “typical†women’s fitness trainer because you won’t find me talking about the latest and greatest ways to shed fat or “tone†up. I DON’T do extreme anything. In fact, I’m probably somewhere in the middle because I am all about finding a HEALTHY, BALANCED, and REALISTIC approach towards fitness, nutrition, and mindset. It’s not about just completely “accepting†who you are so you don’t have to put in the work and effort to keep yourself at a HEALTHY weight for YOU and YOUR body type. Nor is it about going to the other end of the spectrum with extreme dieting and exercise to try and hold yourself to some unrealistic standards impressed upon you by society.
When it comes to prenatal and postnatal fitness, you won’t hear me say things like “just listen to your bodyâ€, “keep working out like you did before you were pregnantâ€, or “ it’s fine to resume all exercise after your 6-week postpartum check-upâ€, because it’s just not true! While I will talk about the importance of exercise in preparation for labor, delivery, and recovery, I won’t tell you things like what type of birth experience you should have, or whether you should breastfeed (because that is none of my business), and you have to do what works for YOU!
I also won’t talk about how to quickly lose the baby-weight. I care more about your body functioning well and feeling strong and supported during pregnancy, as well as healing, recovering, and gaining your strength during the postpartum period. All moms deserve MORE and deserve BETTER when it comes to fitness, and that is what I strive to do for these ladies!
On a more personal note…I enjoy lifting weights, spending time with my family and close friends, traveling or being at the beach, eating yummy food (especially anything with peanut butter in it), occasionally binging on Bravo reality television, and reading anything related to fitness, business, spirituality, or personal development. I also have a very dry and sarcastic sense of humor.
I look forward to helping you on your journey!
